The Intermodal/Trade Development Department focuses on logistics-driven opportunities related to cargo shipped from beneficial cargo owners (BCO’s), Non Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC’s), and forwarder & brokers. The opportunities are then funneled to ocean carriers. The department also focuses on facilitating rail and truck movements on a regional level. The goal of the department is to increase trade through the Port of Baltimore by providing comprehensive logistical advantages for intermodal cargo movement.
The department also interacts with Customs and Border Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and other federal agencies to assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
